With daily train services (except 25 and 26 December), rail travel offers you a sustainable way to visit the area.

There are connections at Newcastle and Carlisle from railway stations throughout the country to the Tyne Valley Railway and the heart of Hadrian’s Wall Country.

You can plan your rail journey online or visit a staffed railway booking office. Ticket prices will depend on the journey you are taking. There are discounts if you have a national railcard.

International visitors travelling can obtain a BritRail pass providing rail travel throughout the country.

The AD122 bus provides connecting travel from Hexham and Haltwhistle Railway Stations to Roman sites and attractions.
