A beautiful 13th Century manor house with strong fortifications against Scottish raiders, Aydon Castle stands in a secluded woodland setting. This classic castle is perfect for family games and picnics and is a great starting point for some woodland walks.

English Heritage maintains multiple sites on Hadrian’s Wall, such as; Carlisle Castle, Lanercost Priory, Birdoswald Roman Fort, Housesteads Roman Fort & Museum, Chesters Roman Fort & Museum, and Corbridge Roman Town.
